Del Lusso is an elevated Neapolitan-inspired osteria featuring brick oven pizzas made the southern Italian way in the heart of Carlsbad, California. Using the freshest ingredients and prepared in the simplest way, we fire off pizzas to perfection in 90 seconds in our custom-made oven.

The casual eatery is the product of two Carlsbad entrepreneurs who share a passion for bringing people together through the shared experience of incredible food, farm-to-table ingredients, and sourcing from the the finest purveyors to create an incredible dining experience.

Del Lusso works with our partners to bring both locally- and internationally-sourced, premium ingredients to enhance our selection of Neapolitan-inspired pizzas, shared appetizers, fresh salads, mouthwatering sandwiches, and an assortment of imported coffees, homemade gelato, premium desserts, and a selection of imported Italian and craft beers and premium wines.

Come in, order, and then relax on our patio with a beer or a glass of wine while we take care of the rest. Eat in or boxed to go, we look forward to welcoming you!

Walter Wong Executive Chef + CEO

Born and raised in Montreal but a long-time Carlsbad resident, Walter is the founder of Del Lusso.  While growing up, he was surrounded by Italian, Greek, Arab, French, and Asian cooking and he brings this Mediterranean-influenced style to the menu. Perfecting the art of crafting Napoletana pizza and working with only the finest purveyors, Walter envisioned Del Lusso as a place to bring people together through a shared food experience.

Jon Darksy Advisor

Passionate about crafting his art, Jon Darksy is the owner of Del Popolo — a long-time favorite and one of the premier Napoletana Pizzerias in San Francisco’s Nob Hill. Del Popolo serves up phenomenal pies with seasonal New American Starters. Prior to starting Del Popolo, Jon worked with Pizzaiolo, Pizzeria Delfina, and Flour + Water.

Tricia Wong General Manager

Tricia heads the HR team and is responsible for onboarding and training of all new hires, as well as handling Del Lusso’s catering events, private parties, and social gatherings. With her exceptional customer service background and warm smile, Tricia brings the perfect balance of hospitality and organizational skills to ensure that whether it’s a party of two or or party of 200, they’ll all receive the same, amazing dining experience at Del Lusso.

Paul Nishiyama Advisor

A seasoned professional with 32+ years in the restaurant industry, Paul is currently the Senior VP of Operations at Rubio’s Restaurants. Previously, he helped scale operations at both Johnny Rockets and Burger Lounge. Paul serves as an advisor to Del Lusso’s executive team and is based in Southern California.

Gianni Gallucci Advisor

Born and raised in Naples, Italy, Gianni later moved to Chicago, where he has consulted and opened several top restaurants. However, his heart is from Napoli, having been crowned the Caputo Cup World Champion as a Master Pizzaiolo in 2017. Also a member of the US Pizza Team, Gianni is a three-time world champion. Having trained dozens of pizzaiolos, Del Lusso is proud to have Gianni as a mentor and advisor. Gianni will open his self-named restaurant Gallucci in Chicago later this year.
